Goals of the Foundation

Immediate Goals

• Create an awareness of and excitement about the Foundation.
• Raise $100,000.00 in 2003.
• Award at least 25% of the money raised in 2003 in form of Excellence Grants for teachers to fund innovative projects in all three schools that promote acedemic and cultural activities during the 2003-2004 acedemic year. Up to 75% of the money raised in 2003 will be invested for the future.

Long-Term Goals

• Annually replicate the success of the first year, so that every year innovative projects can be funded in all three schools. These projects will promote academics and cultural activities.
• Create a permanent endowment of $1 million, so that the interest can be used to provide the highest quality education possible in the Bremen City Schools.
• Create the possibility of larger projects (such as facilities improvements or additional staff)
• Attract grant funding.
• Create widespread participation in the Foundation and committees by residents of Bremen and alumni of the Bremen City Schools.
• Have people remember the Bremen Educational Foundation in their estate planning, by designating the Foundation in life insurance policies and wills.
